The
“Warrior Ways of the
Sword” training camp will focus on all aspects
of the Japanese sword and living as a warrior in a training camp
doing so. Shihan Richard Van Donk will be teaching most of this
event with some help from senior blackbelts such as Joel Everett
(10th dan), Jeff Davis (6th dan), Ray Kribel (3rd dan), Bob Neal (3rd dan), Rick Greener (3rd dan), and more.
We will study the evolution and actual training skills of Happo
Hiken Jutsu and kenjutsu of various schools of the Bujinkan in a
step by step fashion. You will be introduced to 2 formal styles
of Iaijutsu and Battojutsu schools so that you will learn first
hand the many aspects of sword use and training. You are empty if
you have only learned one system cause you must know what the other
guy knows. Learn how to clean and take care of your sword. Learn
how they are made, names of all the parts and how they work and
much more. But most of all you will learn how to fight in real combat
style. We will pad our swords for group battles in the woods. This
camp will improve all your taijutsu and help perfect your distancing.
If you want your taijutsu bad habits to show up put a weapon in
your hands, especially a sword. While we train you will learn to
be more focused, centered, on purpose and committed in proper action.
These skills will transfer to your everyday life. The toughest battles
are the ones between our own two ears, especially if we know that
danger must be confronted. So warriorship skills of the sword will
help you in every aspect of your physical, mental, spiritual and
emotional being. This is an integral part of studying the warrior
path. Be courageous. Join us for a great event.
